According to the Conversion Rate Benchmark, the most converting categories among free apps are Food & Drinks (43% conversion rate), Finance (42.2%) and Business (38.7%).

In the Food & Drink category, the Top Paid app was Budget Bytes - Delicious Recipes for Small Budgets with less than 5K downloads and 5k revenue worldwide, while the top Free app was DoorDash - Food Delivery (about 800k downloads) and the top Grossing app - Mealime - Meal Planner, Recipes & Grocery List with 55K downloads and about $20K accumulated worldwide in December 2019.

The Finance category leaders were Pro Credit Card Reader NFC with about 5K downloads and less than $8K in revenue among the top Paid apps, Cash App with about 1M downloads among the top Free apps, and in Grossing - QuickBooks Self-Employed: Mileage Tracker and Taxes and its 100K downloads and slightly more than $400k revenue worldwide.

In the Business category the Free app leader was Uber Driver with 2M downloads in December worldwide, in Paid apps - Package Disabler Pro (Samsung) with less than 5K downloads and in Grossing - Sideline - Get a Second Number for a Business Line with about 40K downloads and $200K in revenue.

The apps with in-app purchases have the highest conversion rate in Education (31.3%), Travel & Local (30.8%) and Music & Audio (30%) categories.

The Education category got Toca Lab: Elements as a leader in Paid apps with less than 5K downloads and about $9K revenue, Duolingo: Learn Languages Free - in Free apps with impressive 3M downloads, and Udemy - Online Courses - in Grossing apps with about 450K downloads and $1M accumulated worldwide in December.

PeakFinder AR got the first place in the Paid Travel & Local category with less than 6K downloads but about $20K revenue. Google Earth was on the top of Free travel apps with 3M downloads and Flightradar24 Flight Tracker - on the top of Grossing travel apps with about 700K downloads and estimated $200K in revenue.

YouTube Music - Stream Songs & Music Videos became the leader of the Free Music & Audio category with amazing 12M downloads worldwide in December, Poweramp Full Version Unlocker was on the top of Paid apps with 25K downloads and about $60K revenue and Pandora - Streaming Music, Radio & Podcasts - on the top of Grossing apps with 1M downloads and about $9M earned.
